The Sony KD-49XF8096 TV belongs to the eighth line of the manufacturer with improved characteristics. The 2018 model is distinguished by its impeccable image and sound quality, for which special technologies are involved. I collected information about the model, worked through customer reviews, compared the main characteristics with TVs of other brands of the same diagonal -LG 49UK6200 and Samsung UE49NU7100U. I collected all the data obtained in a review, which I propose to study and learn about the features and advantages of the TV.
This model is involved in rating of the best TVs 49 inches, in ranking of the best Sony TVs and in ranking of the best 4K UHD TVs.
Screen

Color depth - 8 bits, FRC. Triluminos Display delivers vibrant, vibrant colors across the entire spectrum for true, natural tones. 4KX-Reality PRO technology upscales the finest detail to 4K. Development is carried out online. The image reaches its maximum clarity.
The refresh rate of the Sony KD-49XF8096 is 50 Hz. This is a common indicator for most devices. Although the cheaper Samsung UE49NU7100U it is 100 Hz. But Sony provides technology to improve the smoothness of the display Motionflow XR 400Hz. It provides high detail by adding extra frames between the original to minimize sharp transitions. Dynamic scenes are displayed very smoothly, without jerking. At LG 49UK6200 and Samsung UE49NU7100U, the enhancement technology reaches only 100Hz, so TVs do not give smooth picture in action scenes or when watching sports matches.
The Sony KD-49XF8096 Edge LED backlight is provided by LEDs located on the sides. If we compare it with the Direct LED backlighting of the LG 49UK6200, I note more even illumination in the latter, the absence of side glare when viewed in a dark room. The advantage of Edge LED is its thin screen. For comparison, Sony is only 57mm thick, while LG is 80mm.
Appearance
Dimensions - 1096 × 640 × 57 mm, slim body, made in black. Stylish frame with imitation aluminum finish. The power supply is located at the back, making it inconvenient for wall mounting. For wall mounting, a VESA 200 × 200 mm mount is provided.
For installation on a table, a solid 0.7 kg stand made of durable plastic is provided. This is where the TV differs from the LG and Samsung models: they have two legs. With the stand, the dimensions increase to 1096 × 691 × 252 mm. It weighs 12.9 kg. LG 49UK6200 lighter - only 11 kg.
Connectors
Sony KD-49XF8096 is equipped with an unusually large set of connectors: component, 2 AV, 4 HDMI, 3 USB, Ethernet, Miracast, optical, headphone jack. There is Bluetooth, Wi-Fi. At LG 49UK6200 and Samsung UE49NU7100U connectors are much less: only 1 AV, 3 HDMI, 2 USB, no output for connecting headphones. The latter doesn't have Bluetooth yet.
Sound
Sound Sony KD-49XF8096 provide 2 speakers of 10 watts.Dolby Digital and DTS decoders are responsible for the depth and naturalness of the sound, similar to the effect of a movie theater. DSEE technology enhances digital sound quality by expanding the sound space. Samsung does not have DTS, so the sound quality is slightly worse, although this is not very noticeable. When switching channels, the volume is automatically equalized (AVL).
Functions
The TV has a Smart TV on Android 7.0 with a possible upgrade to 8.0. At LG 49UK6200 webOS platform. Android provides more features thanks to Google Play, provides access to applications and film library. conclusions
Price Sony KD-49XF8096 - . In this segment, the TV is leading in all respects, despite the old-fashioned remote control and a plastic stand. The TV is characterized by a bright natural image, high-quality backlight, excellent sound, good functionality. Lower competitor prices: LG 49UK6200 – , Samsung UE49NU7100U - 36 thousand. They are slightly inferior to Sony in picture quality, smooth frame change in dynamic scenes. Differ in a smaller number of sockets, lack of an exit under earphones. Samsung TV does not have Bluetooth, it loses a little in sound. But LG 49UK6200 has a more uniform backlight, although because of this a thicker matrix.
