In the conditions of modern life, when using new equipment, there is a need to optimize the equipment used for comfortable and effective everyday use. This includes the operation of appliances that help reduce energy costs, increase efficiency, and take control of your entire home heating system. An example of such devices are thermostats for infrared heaters. How to connect the thermostat to an infrared heater, as well as how to use it correctly, you will learn in our article.
Technical characteristics and types of temperature controllers
So, in order to start, in fact, the installation of equipment, you need to know and have an idea about its structure and characteristics. This is necessary in order to maximally correctly determine the effectiveness of a particular device specifically for your use.
The thermostat, as its name suggests, regulates the room temperature. He does this by measuring the air temperature in the room, and depending on the results obtained and the settings, he already regulates the heating system. That is, if you have one or more heaters installed, it does not matter, which have reached a certain temperature, and then turn off, then this is the work of our thermostat. The principle of operation is simple and does not require any in-depth knowledge.
There are currently two types of thermostats on the market: electronic and mechanical. They all look like small boxes, often made of plastic. There is always a temperature regulator on the front, although there are models where it is located on the side. The type of device depends on the manufacturer, model and, accordingly, on its price. As a rule, mechanical temperature controllers have control in the form of a wheel or buttons, while electronic ones are equipped with a touch screen or a large set of buttons, and also have remote control.
Manufacturers recommend using mechanical thermostats only when there is always someone in the room. Electronic ones are smarter in this regard and do not need constant monitoring.
Thermostats are connected to all modern heating devices and infrared heaters are no exception. It is about them that will be discussed in our article.

Installing a thermostat on an IR heater
Installation of such equipment as a temperature regulator does not require much knowledge in the field of electrical engineering, but some points must be known. For example, you need to find the right place to place your appliance, regardless of its type. It is best to carry out installation in places with low humidity, the devices do not like this very much, they can become buggy and eventually become unusable, especially mechanical devices, since electronic devices are more protected from external influences and have a seal. Also, do not place the device near sources of heat or sunlight, for example, near a kitchen stove, heaters and opposite open windows. This is the first step in installing a thermostat for infrared heaters - the selection of the installation site.
This is followed by the installation itself. This process includes connecting the device to the network and the heater. For the correct connection of all elements to each other, an automatic relay is used, which serves as a power source for your heater, in our case an IR heater. There are several schemes that are used to install thermostats, they will be provided below.

Wiring diagrams of the thermostat to the heater
There are several schemes for connecting a thermostat to a heating system, both simple and complex, but you can do it yourself. So, the simplest option would be a circuit with one thermostat and one heater. The circuit is very simple: the machine has two pairs of contacts, one of them is connected directly to the thermostat. Naturally, contacts are zero and phase, everyone familiar with electrical engineering should understand these values. The rest of the pair of wires is connected to the heater.
Option number two is a little more complicated, since it involves a parallel connection of the heater through a thermostat. This method allows you to connect several heating devices to the thermostat. The scheme is also quite simple, if you understand it. From the automatic switch, a pair of wires goes to the thermostat, and from it comes the wiring of contacts to your IR heaters.
The most difficult is the connection diagram, which also uses one thermostat for several room heating devices, but the difference from the second is in the connection itself. So, in order to mount this circuit, a magnetic starter is used, and the connection diagram is individual. There are also ready-made schemes, just take and install, but this does not guarantee you stable operation of the system. This option is the most practical and common.

Output
The temperature controller for infrared heaters is an excellent solution for the heating system of the house, office and other things. Connection is carried out both independently and with the help of a wizard. How to connect the thermostat to an infrared heater, you can find the instructions that came with the device or find it on the Internet. We hope our article was helpful.
