All household appliances need proper care. Washing machines are no exception. In order for the life of the washing machine to be no less than that specified by the manufacturer, you need to know how to clean the filter in the washing machine. For a simple user, determining the location of the filter is a daunting task. Guided by logic, a caring owner is trying to find a filter near the water supply system, or, not unreasonably, suggests that it is necessary to clean the drain hose.
It should be noted that both solutions are correct. The technical design of the washing machine involves the purification of water at the inlet before washing and at the outlet after, in this regard, many models are equipped with two filters: inlet and drain. It is possible that additional cleaning structures exist, which are not installed at the factory, but at the request of the owner in the service center. Their service will not be considered now.
How to clean the drain filter
When talking about the need to clean the drain system, owners of washing machines usually mean the filter located there. It is located in the lower front of the machine under a special cover or behind a plastic panel that can be easily removed with a screwdriver.
Structurally, the detail is presented in the form of a screw-in plug. The filter element can be removed without any problems, by turning it counterclockwise or removed after unscrewing the locking screws - it all depends on the model of the machine. Before starting the manipulations, prepare a special dish to drain the water remaining in the system. Place it under the hatch.
Carefully remove the filter, wait for the water to drain, and thoroughly clean the socket from accumulated debris. Use a stiff brush and running water to clean the filter element itself. Return it to its place after completely removing the dirt, screwing it clockwise until it stops. Do this carefully so that the part does not warp or dangle. If the cleaning device is correctly fixed and tightly closes the hole, close the access door or attach the access panel. ( See also: How to clean the washing machine from scale and dirt )
Dismantling problems
Under the influence of some factors, the filter can become clogged or clogged with scale so much that it is impossible to get it using the method described above. Proceed as follows: putting the machine on the side surface, get the drain pump (pump) and try to pull out the filter element from the inside. Sometimes such actions do not bring results. Then remove the entire drain structure and deal with the problem in a convenient place.
In addition to dirt and scale in the drain cleaning device you can find a trifle, clothing accessories, which accidentally fell into the tank of the machine.Clean regularly and there will be no difficulty in dismantling.

How to clean the inlet filter
Not all models of washing machines are equipped with an inlet filter, the role of which is to purify incoming water from large mud inclusions. It usually looks like a small mesh cylinder, which, while performing its functions, becomes dirty and if it is not cleaned, then water will be poorly supplied or will stop altogether.
In the washing machine, according to the logic, the inlet filter is located near the inlet hose. Before cleaning it, disconnect the machine from the central water supply, unscrew the hose and use pliers to remove the necessary part. Do not make sudden movements, do not jerk, slowly twist in different directions, then pull towards you. To thoroughly clean the part, use a toothbrush. Remnants of rust and sand are well removed under a strong pressure of water. If the mesh is heavily soiled and cannot be cleaned, you can purchase a new one from the home appliance spare parts department.
Install a well-cleaned or new part in the intake port. To make it sit tightly in its place, gently press it down with a screwdriver. Then connect the machine to the water supply and check the quality of the connection.
The condition of the input cleaning device must be monitored constantly. The frequency of cleaning depends on how dirty the water supply is.
