Where to put powder in the washing machine?

In the washing machine, all the basic functions are automated, including the addition of powder or special detergents, depending on the stage of washing. For these purposes, a special tray is used that has several dispensing compartments. But where to pour the detergent in the washing machine?

What is each department for?

Depending on the type of machine, it can be located:

  • Under the lifting lid - in machines with vertical loading of linen.
  • On the left side above the tank - in machines where the laundry is loaded horizontally.

Which compartment in the typewriter you fall asleep depends on the program and what kind of linen will be used. Basically, an automatic washing machine has three compartments, each of which has its own purpose. They are designated with special characters, letters or numbers (they are specified in detail in the instructions). If the instruction is not available:

  • the number I or the letter "A" - mark the compartment (cuvette), where the powder for prewash is poured. If such a function is not provided for in the typewriter program set, then such a compartment is accordingly absent. This compartment can be identified by size - it is average in volume.
  • the number II or the letter B - this means the dispenser in which the washing powder is added, which is necessary for the main washing step. In size - it is the largest.
  • an asterisk / flower, the designation “Softener” is less common - the smallest in volume, it is used to fill conditioners and conditioners. They can be added both before washing, and already in the process, but before the start of the rinse.

Important:

Stain remover or bleach must not be added to the rinse aid compartment - they are too aggressive and can damage the laundry.

Is it possible to pour powder into the drum of a washing machine

It is difficult to unequivocally answer how justified is the option in which the washing powder is poured directly into the drum. If the powder compartment does not work, then this method is the only one. This approach has several advantages.

pros

  • Savings - when the detergent falls asleep directly into the drum, it can be added less than if you use the tray.
  • Since the powder is rinsed directly in the drum during rinsing, the process is much more efficient. This is due to the fact that when the powder is supplied from the compartment during the main wash, part of it may stick to the internal parts. And then get on things when water is supplied to rinse the laundry.
  • Recently, more and more common means designed specifically for direct placement inside the drum are various capsules, as well as gels, which are poured into special containers.

It should be understood that when it comes to pouring powder directly into the tank, it is necessary to use a special container. It has special holes through which the powder is washed with water. This is due to the fact that just falling asleep powder before washing in the drum has a number of significant drawbacks.

Minuses

  • It is slightly soluble at a small (up to 40 degrees) temperature and with reduced washing conditions. When washed out of the tray, it partially dissolves, and is completely diluted in water in the drum. Therefore, it is justifiable to directly place the powder in the tank during prolonged washing that occurs at high temperature.
  • Previously, before the start of the washing process, the drum is freed from water - this can lead to leaching of a large amount of detergent.
  • In some automatic machines, a function is provided for the gradual addition of powder, which is washed out in certain doses from the powder receiver. If it is placed in the drum before washing, this function will not be implemented correctly.
  • It is not justified to add powder to the drum in washing machines with the EcoBubble function (foam generator). When supplied from the dispenser, the detergent dissolves much more efficiently, therefore, the washing quality will be higher.
  • Direct addition of powder eliminates such a part of the regime as prewash; it is impossible to add powder into the drum before the start of the main cycle.
  • Do not add rinse aid or conditioner directly to the drum - they are fed from the tray with the start of the rinse cycle.
  • It is not recommended to put a stain remover or bleach in the drum - they are very concentrated, so their direct application to a thing can discolor the fabric.

Important:

You can not pour on black (very dark things), when dissolved, it can provoke the appearance of bright spots due to discoloration of the fabric dye.

Where to put the powder in a top-loading machine?

In machines of such models, powder compartments are located directly on the lid. Moreover, not at the top, but inside. Therefore, it is impossible to see them at first sight. But, when you open the car, you will see a special compartment.

It is made in the form of pockets and is very convenient. The inscriptions that indicate the compartments on such typewriters are completely identical to those on the front ones.
